THE MATCH
Sir Alex Ferguson’s Reds simply sailed through our semi-final second leg against Arsenal in north London. After a 1-0 win in the opening leg, United escaped into the distance with two quick-fire away goals, courtesy of a close-range finish from Ji-sung Park and a 40-yard rocket of a free-kick from Ronaldo.
Our third goal of the night, and fourth on aggregate, demonstrated our lightning pace on the break, as Ronaldo finished off an attack which started from a corner for the Gunners. The 4-1 final score on aggregate meant that we were through to our second Champions League final in as many years, this time to take on Barcelona in Rome.
