Even though it would have gained him more time to buy some big-name players just to make sure they win the next game, he’s resisted that and said: ‘No, I don’t want to do that. I want to stick [with what I’ve got]. I don’t just want to bring in players to save myself.’
“These two things I’ve really appreciated when I’ve looked at his leadership and first one-and-a-half years at United.”
Eight first-team regulars joined other clubs (either permanently on loan) last summer, but Solskjaer is keen to make sure any new faces brought in are the right ones, and Jesper believes that is paying off – so much so, that he’s now watching the Reds even more intently.
“This season, I’ve watched more than ever, I think, of United,”
said Jesper. “I’m more of a fan than ever, and it’s a great feeling as well to be on that side and watching with a lot of emotions.”
