Everton appear more optimistic that captain Seamus Coleman could return ahead of schedule and play in defence. With Lucas Digne’s suspension cut to one game, making the Frenchman available, both regular full-backs may be available again to Carlo Ancelotti.
James Rodriguez is expected to be ready as well, and Jordan Pickford has apparently been promised a return in goal, but Brazilian forward Richarlison remains suspended.
Mason Holgate, Tom Davies and Ben Godfrey are among the doubts but Ancelotti is to provide more information in his press conference on Friday afternoon.
