Man Utd three nominees for July Player of the Month award

The Frenchman is probably in the form of his life, with his all-round play in attack being a real highlight of the month. Working hard from the front, he has been a focal point and weighed in with some highly valuable contributions.

A wonder strike against Bournemouth, a shot that curled into the top corner, emphasised his quality and he was frustrated not to hit the net at Aston Villa, thrashing the ball against the underside of the bar and out and showing his displeasure when withdrawn in the second half without another goal to his name. He took this out on Southampton, showing his strength and intelligence to tee up Rashford for an equaliser before smashing home himself during a Man-of-the-Match display.

Another calm finish against Crystal Palace wrapped up three vital points and, aside from supplying the assist for Greenwood’s goal against West Ham, he was brought down for both of the penalties earned in the FA Cup tie with Chelsea and last-day decider at Leicester. The striker’s red-hot form has been a major factor in the successful end to the campaign.
