Man Utd record and stats from opening-day Premier League fixtures

We’ve previously began a new term by facing six different London sides – Queens Park Rangers, Wimbledon, Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Chelsea and West Ham United. From those games, we’ve won eight and lost just once. We’ve also won all six times we’ve commenced a Premier League campaign with a home game against a club from the capital.

United have started a new Premier League season at the Theatre of Dreams 16 times and have impressively won 12 of those encounters, drew three and lost just one. In general, the Reds have excelled in our first home match of a campaign and we’ve won 21 of our 28 first games at Old Trafford. Since losing our very first home match of the Premier League, against Everton in 1992/93, United have been beaten just once in our maiden fixture of the campaign, at the Theatre of Dreams, that came in 2014, against Swansea City.
