Man Utd history v Juventus ahead of Champions League group stage draw

On Monday, we profiled the first of those sides – reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Today, we’re on to the second of our seven-part series, looking at our history with 2019/20 Serie A winners Juventus…

The Old Lady, as they’re known back in Italy, are our most familiar European opponents, with 14 games between the clubs taking place since the first meeting back in 1976. United have won five of those, a number which includes arguably our greatest continental performance – the incredible 3-2 comeback victory at the Stadio Delle Alpi in April 1999, which secured a place in the Champions League final. The Reds have been drawn with Juve in the group stages on four separate occasions – in 1996/97, 1997/98, 2002/03 and 2018/19 – winning four and losing four of the eight matches.
