Lindelof: I am always ready

The 28-year-old defender partnered Lisandro Martinez at the heart of United’s defence, during our recent victories over Omonia Nicosia and Everton.

With injury affecting the beginning of his 2022/23 campaign, Victor had only appeared once prior to the September international break, but lay-offs for Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane have given him the opportunity to show Erik ten Hag what he can offer at the back.

He was a calm and composed figure as United got over the line at Goodison Park, providing a cool head in possession but also adding the necessary steel when required, particularly during a nervy last five minutes.

Lindelof has spent five years with the club now, following his 2017 move from Benfica, and he says he will always respond to his manager’s call.
