Leah Galton named Man Utd Women Player of the Month for February 2023

Next up was a trip to the capital where we faced Tottenham Hotspur in a game that was decided in 10 frantic minutes. Galton, in her favoured left-wing position, opened the scoring for the Reds not long after the hour-mark. Moments later, however, Spurs forward Beth England levelled it with a long-range strike before mere seconds passed and Molly Bartrip skewed the ball into the back of her own net to restore our lead. Ella Toone’s red card late on – which was subsequently overturned – meant a difficult task seeing out the game, but Skinner’s side prevailed to pick up a crucial three points in a 2-1 win

The Reds saw out the month with a fight-round FA Cup clash with Durham. The Wildcats have been notoriously difficult opponents for us in the past, but Galton and her team-mates dispatched them 5-0 to secure a spot in the last eight of the competition, where we’ll face Lewes.

Our no.11 was on the scoresheet yet again, finishing off a sublime move from United. Katie Zelem’s searching ball over the top of the difference found Galton through the middle who stayed composed to lift the ball over the onrushing Durham keeper, Naoisha McAloon, and set us on our way.
