United Women head coach Marc Skinner commended the goalkeeper’s impressive showing post-match on Tuesday, citing a particularly important stop that Sophie made early in the game.
“She should be [happy with the clean sheet] and I’ve been really impressed with how Baggers has taken to the ball work, positioning,” he said.
“But when they went through one-on-one and she made that big save, I felt like she was going to make that save and that’s because she’s showed that confidence.
“We’ve got England’s number one [Mary Earps] as well and Saf [Middleton-Patel] as well – we’ve got a wonderfully talented group [of goalkeepers].
“But credit to Baggers because when she was called upon… if you notice in our teams, our goalkeepers have, very rarely, bits to do but they have big moments and Baggers has shown she can take big moments.”
