Scott McTominay rues missed chances after Galatasaray comeback

Media scrutiny will inevitably fall on Andre Onana, who will likely be disappointed that he failed to prevent Galatasaray’s two Hakim Ziyech free-kicks, but McTominay prefers a ‘collective’ analysis of the 90 minutes and his side’s performance.

“There are no individuals in this team,” he said. “We all want to be a collective and push each other forwards together.

“There’s no intimidation in football. You have just got to go there [to away stadiums like Newcastle United on Saturday], take it on its head and go for it, and that’s the way this team wants to operate. We want to go and fight every challenge head on and that’s it. There’s no ducking and diving out of situations, we want to go and push ourselves and test ourselves against some really good teams.”
