The importance of the fixture isn’t lost on Mary Earps, with the Reds’ goalkeeper set to line up at Old Trafford for the third time this year, following United’s win against Everton in March, and England’s victory against Austria to kick off the Euros in July.
As such, she’s excited for Saturday, but certainly not daunted by what lies ahead. “I love playing at Old Trafford, it’s a fantastic stadium and it comes with a lot of history,” she tells us. “But football is football, a pitch is a pitch and so from that point of view there’s nothing to learn; it’s just about going and doing the fans proud in such an incredible environment and putting in our best performance.”
