Preview | Everton vs United

OPPOSITION WATCH

Lampard’s Everton are enjoying a solid start to the new season, and currently occupy 11th place in the Premier League table.

Undefeated in their last seven outings, the Blues most recently came from a goal down to beat Southampton at St Mary’s just last weekend.

A goal for Conor Coady and a first for his fellow summer arrival Dwight McNeil ensured the points, with the side no doubt confident heading into Sunday’s encounter.

Troublesome forward, Anthony Gordon, tops the teams scoring charts so far this campaign, finding the net twice. Gordon produced the match-winning goal the last time the Reds met Everton, and United’s full-backs will have to be alert to stop the 21-year-old’s advances down either flank this time out.

HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD

The last time the Reds defeated the Toffees was in 2020, and Ten Hag’s side will bid to seek revenge following our 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park last season.

Gordon’s 27th-minute strike was enough to secure all three points for the hosts, with the scores ending level when we met in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.

Anthony Martial had given us the lead during the first half of that fixture, before Andros Townsend’s second half strike ensured a share of the spoils in M16.
