YOUR MATCH REMINDER

The start of the new Premier League season brought fresh optimism for the Reds, especially with new signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka making their competitive debuts at the back, and fellow new arrival Daniel James named among the substitutes.

Our two new defensive recruits showcased their talents in the first half, as United had to weather a flurry of attacks from Lampard’s young team, which included Tammy Abraham and Emerson both striking the frame of the goal.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side proved resolute and went into the break with the advantage, courtesy of a spot-kick from Marcus Rashford. The local lad was brought down inside the area by Kurt Zouma and made no mistake from the spot.

Three more goals would follow after the interval, as United punished Chelsea on the counter-attack in clinical fashion. Anthony Martial bundled in Andreas Pereira’s cross, before Rashford latched onto a brilliant long ball from Paul Pogba to score his second of the afternoon. James made it a debut to remember, as he came on from the bench to net our fourth and claim his first goal for the club with nine minutes to go.
