The same can be said for Wales, who bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Group I leaders France on Friday to win 3-0 away to Kazakhstan on Tuesday afternoon.

United’s Hayley Ladd played the 90 minutes for the Dragons, while Carrie Jones was brought on from the bench and Reds Under-21s midfielder Chloe Williams didn’t feature.

One nation who do still have hopes of topping their respective group is Norway, represented by our Vilde Boe Risa and Maria Thorisdottir.

The duo’s country remain unbeaten in their qualifying campaign so far and are in pole position to take the one automatic spot in their group with two games to go, following a 2-1 victory at home to Poland.

Thorisdottir played the 90 minutes while Boe Risa was introduced at half-time for the home side.
