FRANCE

Like England, France entered the international break having already qualified for next summer’s World Cup.

Our new summer signing Aissatou Tounkara came on as a 44th-minute substitute and helpedย Les Bleusย record a commanding 5-1 win over Greece to establish their own perfect record in qualifying, with 10 wins, 54 goals scored, conceding just four.

NETHERLANDS

Jackie Groenen played the full 90 minutes of the Netherlands’ qualifier against Iceland.

Theย Oranjeย needed only a draw to progress to next summer’s tournament, but a stoppage-time winner fromย Esmee Brugts booked the 2017 European champions a spot on the plane to Australia and New Zealand.

The win also ensured that the Netherlands maintained their unbeaten record in qualifying, with six wins and two draws.
