Man Utd defender Alex Telles nominated for Champions League Goal of the Season award

Speaking to us in December, Telles admitted Fernandes was key to the goal: “That was one of the most beautiful moments of my career, it’s a moment I will never forget. Firstly, because I was playing in a Champions League match for Manchester United and secondly scoring a goal in that context.

“We were behind, then we equalised, then turned the score around, it was a remarkable evening, an unforgettable evening. I share the merit of that goal with Bruno because that pass was his idea. 

“Obviously because of my hard work, confidence and skill that I know I have I was able to score that goal. I will never forget that moment. The main thing is making the fans happy, I will never forget how happy they were in the stadium that night.”
