Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams injury update after Southampton game

[ad_1]

Solskjaer admitted his frustration at not being able to bring on a replacement due to the new rules, which allow five substitutions but only at three intervals (not including the half-time break).

“I don’t know if you want to look into those rules,” he said. “Obviously, it was a bad cut and Brandon couldn’t see out of his eye. He [the referee] stopped the game when the Southampton centre-back got a calf injury, I didn’t understand that one early in the second half. I don’t know, it is what it is, we didn’t have too many minutes to see it out with 10 men and we should have done better.”

It remains to be seen whether Shaw and Williams will be available for Thursday’s game at Crystal Palace, with the boss set to provide an update closer to the trip to London.
