Casemiro named Player of the Month

The five-time Champions League winner was gradually integrated into Erik ten Hag’s side throughout August and September, but firmly established himself within the starting XI during October.

 

He made his first Premier League start in the gritty away win at Everton, and was an ever-present starter in the six games that followed.

 

He provided the assist for Ronaldo’s winner at Goodison Park, was our Man of the Match in the draw with Newcastle United, and then repeated that feat in our away game at Chelsea, where his cathartic late header earned us a well-deserved point.

 

But the suspicion is that Casemiro receives this award not just for those star turns, but for his consistency and authority in the less glamorous situations that can be so critical within top-level football games.
