“Our first half wasn’t good, I think we just didn’t get our shape right and they were popping it around us,”

Hanson, who was introduced at the break, told BT Sport.

“It shows the squad depth we’ve got now because last season we probably couldn’t get back from that 2-0 [deficit] at half-time.”

“It shows we’ve got game-changers and our mentality is different this season; [we’re] so glad to get the point.”

After Saturday’s result, United remain top of the WSL table with 17 points from our first seven games. The Reds are one of only two teams yet to suffer defeat in the league this season, alongside Emma Hayes’s Chelsea.

Having taken five points from fixtures with last season’s top three – Chelsea, City and Arsenal – already in 2020/21, Hanson is optimistic for United’s chances in the title race this campaign.
