Sitting down in the diary room, the 35-year-old gave us her take on those references, as she shared an insight into what it takes to put a marker down after being introduced as a substitute.

“Soon as I know I could be coming on, I’ve probably already done my prep work before the game,” our no.28 begins.

“Like we get given analysis, training, know your enemy – the goalies, the defenders – and I just come on the pitch with not a care in the world other than scoring a goal, creating a goal or we finish that game the best way we possibly can.

“Because I just have every intention to just give everything for the team when I cross that white line. For me, it doesn’t make a difference whether you start, as long as when you come on, you have an impact.

“For me, last year and this year, that’s paying off. I think I’ve been nicknamed like ‘The Female Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’ as well? I’ll take that! I’ll take super-sub any day!”
