THE OPPOSITION
Wolves have had a tricky start to the season and currently sit inside the relegation zone of the Premier League with just 13 points, picking up three wins, four draws and nine losses. They did however end a winless run of five matches in the competition last time out with victory at Everton.
That triumph on Merseyside was Lopetegui’s first league game in charge – having taken over from previous head coaches Bruno Lage and Steve Davis (interim) – following his recent appointment, and ensured that he now has two wins from two competitive matches as Wolves boss, after a 2-0 triumph over Gillingham in the League Cup six days earlier.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Midfielder and captain Ruben Neves has been in particularly impressive form this season, with the 25-year-old having scored a team-high four times so far.
Goalkeeper Jose Sa has also kept four clean sheets in the Premier League, despite his side’s difficult start to the 22/23 campaign.
Full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri has scored in each of the Wanderers’ last two competitive games, including the winner in stoppage time at Everton last time out.
