What Man Utd players need to progress in World Cup ahead of match day three

GROUP A

Tyrell Malacia is yet to appear for the Netherlands at the tournament, although the Oranje are still in a strong position to make it out of Group A.

They only need to avoid defeat to Qatar in the final round of fixtures (Tuesday, kick-off 15:00 GMT) to progress, and even a loss will be enough as long as Ecuador, who are currently tied with the Dutch on points, goal difference and goals scored, beat Senegal – the Africans are on three points after their victory over the host nation.

If the Netherlands and Ecuador remain deadlocked at the top – for example, if both games are drawn – first and second placings will be decided by fair play points and, if necessary, the drawing of lots.

Results so far: Qatar 0 Ecuador 2, Senegal 0 Netherlands 2; Qatar 1 Senegal 3, Netherlands 1 Ecuador 1.

GROUP B

England’s 0-0 draw versus the United States on Friday means Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and co still aren’t guaranteed a place in the last 16, although the Three Lions can only be eliminated if they lose by four goals or more to Wales and there is a winner in the Iran v USA game on Tuesday evening.

England will finish top of Group B, and secure a round-of-16 clash with the Group A runners-up, with a win. A draw could also be enough, providing Iran don’t take all three points in their clash with Gregg Berhalter’s side.

Results so far: England 6 Iran 2, USA 1 Wales 1; Wales 0 Iran 2, England 0 USA 0.
