“It’s important that people know that it’s not just through football that the Foundation supports the community,” Wes commented. “They are there in tough times too. It was amazing to be part of the work they did during the pandemic, helping families that really, really needed it.
“The Foundation couldn’t do this without events like the Legends game, so I would encourage fans to get involved and come to the match if they can!”
“What I love most of all is visiting the schools and working with the kids. It’s clear to see the enjoyment they get out of the Foundation going into their schools and they help so many now, it’s really unbelievable. As a local lad, it really means a lot to me.”
The former United no.6 will be joined by the likes of Diego Forlan, Patrice Evra, Jaap Stam and a host of other club greats when the match takes place
on Saturday 21st May at Old Trafford.
