THE OPPOSITION
Enjoying a stellar campaign, Liverpool have only lost twice in the Premier League so far this season and are firmly in the hunt for the title. Sitting just one point behind league leaders Manchester City, Klopp’s side have won their last 10 league encounters and are unbeaten on home turf since March 2021.
Mohamed Salah is the division’s top scorer at present with 20 goals, while England international Trent Alexander-Arnold leads the assists chart with 12 to his name thus far. Having progressed to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League just last week, and to the final of the FA Cup on Saturday, it is sure to be a busy end to the season for the Merseysiders.
TEAM NEWS
Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani look set to miss out through injury, as they did against Norwich on Saturday. Return dates for Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay remain unclear, while Fred, who was injured against Everton earlier this month, is also likely to be sidelined for the trip to Anfield. Ralf Rangnick may provide further updates in his press conference on Monday afternoon (13:15 BST).
For the hosts, Diogo Jota passed a late fitness test to make a cameo off the bench in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City. Klopp will expect the Portuguese to be available from the off on Tuesday, and has no further injury worries to contend with.
