FORM GUIDE
The Toffees burst out of the blocks after the summer, beating Tottenham, West Brom, Crystal Palace and Brighton to record maximum points and sit top of the Premier League table going into the October international break. A dramatic 2-2 draw with city rivals Liverpool consolidated their position but, with key players injured and suspended, they have since ceded the initiative to the reigning champions, with back-to-back away defeats to Southampton and Newcastle leaving Ancelotti’s side in fourth. United, meanwhile, sit 15th, although we do have a 100 per cent record away from home in the Premier League this season, after trips to Brighton (3-2) and Newcastle (4-1).
TEAM NEWS
Anthony Martial is once again available for United after a three-match domestic suspension, while Jesse Lingard is getting closer to a return. Alex Telles has missed the last four games after testing positive for COVID-19 and Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are still injured.
For the home side, Richarlison is still suspended, but left-back Lucas Digne is back after a one-match ban. The hosts are hopeful of a return for James Rodriguez and Andre Gomes, but Seamus Coleman and Ben Godfrey look set to be sidelined, giving the Toffees an issue on the right flank of their defence.
For more details on who is and isn’t available, look out for our early team news update on Thursday afternoon, and the manager’s press conference on Friday morning.
