The Football Black List was founded by Rodney Hinds and Leon Mann in 2008 and the annual list is selected by an expert panel from the black community and those working in football.

“The efforts of Marcus Rashford deserve acclaim alongside the others on the list who go about their business for the good of others,”

said Hinds.

“After a year of challenges, it is great to be provided with inspiration.”

The Football Black List aims to highlight the work of those individuals who are attempting to make football more diverse across all levels of the game, and address the lack of representation in decision-making positions held by members of the black community.

The annual award is split into several categories and salutes those working in football across various roles, including players, administrators, coaching and management, commercial, community and grassroots, LGBT+, media and practitioners.
