Elsewhere, Di’Shon Bernard was an unused substitute for Hull City as the Tigers won 1-0 away to Middlesbrough on Saturday, while Ethan Laird did not feature for Bournemouth as the Cherries drew 0-0 at Sheffield United.

Donny van de Beek wasn’t in action this weekend either. The Dutchman is still recovering from a thigh injury that has kept him out of loan side Everton’s recent matches, but would have been ineligible to face his parent club United in Saturday’s early kick-off anyway.

WHO PLAYS ON SUNDAY?

Three other of United’s loanees could take to the field this afternoon. In the Premier League relegation battle, Brandon Williams’s Norwich host Burnley at 14:00 BST.

Meanwhile in Italy, Axel Tuanzebe has been on the bench for Napoli’s last two matches as he looks to return from injury which has kept him sidelined of late. Napoli face Fiorentina at 14:00 BST and begin the day just a point off the summit of Serie A.

Elsewhere, Deportivo Alaves, where Facundo Pellistri has been plying his trade, will be looking to climb off the bottom of the La Liga table when they face Osasuna at 13:00 BST.
