Man Utd Under-16s to play in Northern Ireland

[ad_1]

United have since had a long history of playing in Northern Ireland, most notably travelling to the famous junior football tournament, formerly known as the Milk Cup.

The Reds were first invited to take part in 1989 and was the first trophy success for some of the decorated stars of the Class of ’92, who subsequently went on to win the competition just two years later in 1991.

A young David Beckham captained the Reds to glory, with Paul Scholes and Gary Neville also featuring in the same XI that very year. A restructure was then introduced back in 1995, with the tournament now consisting of three age groups, Elite (Under-19), Premier (Under-16) and Junior (Under-14).
