Man Utd keeper Dean Henderson targets return after hip injury

“Yeah [I’m] just building it up day by day and, hopefully, I’ll be right for the game, maybe at the weekend against Preston,” Henderson told us before the game was unfortunately called off. “We’ll just see how it goes over the next few days.

“I’ll keep working hard and, hopefully, I can get some minutes under my belt.”

Dean went into further detail about the injury, which he picked up in April, during his run of games in the starting XI.

While not playing at a major tournament will have been hugely disappointing, he admits that it has enabled him to both physically and mentally recover before the new season, as he looks to add to the 26 first-team appearances he made in 2020/21.
