TEAM NEWS

Anthony Martial missed Saturday’s win at Southampton with an Achilles problem and it remains to be seen whether the France forward will be fit enough for this game. Victor Lindelof is back in training with the squad though, having missed the first four games of the season.

According to Ten Hag’s latest update, Phil Jones, Facundo Pellistri, Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams are all sidelined for the time being.

Leicester have only made one addition this summer, with experienced goalkeeper Alex Smithies arriving from Cardiff City. Long-serving stopper Kasper Schmeichel departed for Nice and promising centre-back Wesley Fofana has also been linked with a move away.

On the pitch, the Foxes have issues at full-back. Ricardo Pereira will be sidelined for around six months with a ruptured Achilles, while Ryan Bertrand hasn’t played since December as he awaits a further knee operation. James Maddison may also be a doubt for Thursday’s game: the England international had to sit out Leicester’s latest defeat, 2-1 away to Chelsea, after feeling a twinge in training.
