How to watch and follow Man Utd Women v Everton in Conti Cup 7 Dec 2022

United have two points from our first two games – following draws with Aston Villa and Durham – and are currently occupy fourth spot in the five-team Group A. The table topper, after four matches each have been played, will advance to the next round, while the second-place finisher with the most points across the five groups will also progress to the next round (currently Manchester City in Group B with six points), where European-competing sides Arsenal and Chelsea will enter the competition too.

Aston Villa currently top Group A with six points from three matches, followed by Everton in second (five from two) and Durham in third (four from three). Sheffield United are bottom with one point from their two matches so far.

United know that a win in 90 minutes on Wednesday will take us level on points with, and potentially above, Everton, while a defeat in normal time would see us eliminated with a game to spare.

The sides have met 11 times in total, with United enjoying the better of the fixture, with nine wins to boast. That includes victory on Merseyside soil earlier this season: a 3-0 triumph when the sides met in the WSL back in October. It will be the third occasion the Reds have faced Everton in 2022, the first coming at Old Trafford in March, and for the fifth successive season in the League Cup. Marc Skinner’s side won 2021/22’s contest 2-0, with a Danielle Turner own goal and a Martha Thomas strike good enough for all three points on that evening at Walton Hall Park.
