Harry Maguire reaction to RB Leipzig v Man Utd 8 December 2020

Despite being three goals down, Maguire says the team never gave up hope of turning it around.

“We knew at half-time that the third goal was crucial in the game,“ he said. 

“We piled all sorts of pressure on them and they scored with their first attack… It’s disappointing, again. We’ve got to look at ourselves with that.

“At 3-0, we felt we could change the game, we knew we could score goals. When we get that little bit of momentum, we see how close we came at the end. It’s incredible how the ball didn’t find the back of the net of [Mukiele’s] toe. I was there ready to tap it in as well. It’s disappointing, we gave ourselves too much to do and that’s not good enough.”
