Denis Irwin discusses the threat of striker Robert Lewandowski ahead of Man Utd v Barcelona

“There’s no doubt that the centre-halves, whoever plays, are well aware of his capabilities,” Irwin told club media.

“He’s had a fantastic career. He was brilliant at Bayern Munich and it took him a long time to get the plaudits that he deserved.”

In 703 domestic career appearances, Lewandowski has netted 532 times, with 344 of those coming in just 375 games for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

Now working with Xavi at Barcelona, the Polish striker has already scored 23 times in 27 appearances, as the Catalans lead the way at the top of the La Liga table.
