De Gea has won United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year prize on four occasions, the only player in our history to have been awarded the accolade this many times, and he could also be a candidate for the award this time around.
Reflecting on whether this season matches his previous impressive campaigns, the Spaniard said: “Maybe it is one of my best seasons. I have had very good seasons before, but I think it has been a very good one.”
The 31-year-old will record his 487th appearance for the Reds when we face Palace on Sunday, and he currently sits 11th on United’s all-time appearance list.
