Anthony Elanga wants competition for places in the XI

Erik ten Hag will take the reins at Old Trafford before the beginning of next season, and Elanga is eager to work with the three-time Eredivisie champion.

He said: “Erik’s got amazing records in Europe; he has done very well with Ajax. He’s a manager who I’m really, really looking forward to working under and I know he can bring a lot of his leadership and qualities to this team. It will be good.

“We know we haven’t had the best of seasons this season, but, with more work in pre-season and the new manager coming in, [next season] should be really, really good.”
