Telles has competed for the left-back spot with Luke Shaw this season, with the Brazilian featuring 15 times in the league, while the Englishman has played in the competition on 20 occasions.
On Saturday, it’s almost certain that Telles will start. Interim manager Ralf Rangnick explained to reporters in his pre-match press conference that Shaw has undergone surgery to remove bolts put into his leg after a 2015 leg break. While the surgery was a success, the recovery time is longer than initially expected, ruling Shaw out for at least four weeks.
That gives Telles the starting berth for the back end of the season, a run which looks particularly busy in April.
United travel to Liverpool on Tuesday, only three days after hosting Norwich, and then down to London to take on Arsenal on Saturday. Should Chelsea win their FA Cup semi-final this weekend, then another midweek game will follow, against the Blues.
